Welcome to the Korean Association of English for Specific Purposes(ESP)

In response to growing societal demands, English for Specific Purposes(ESP) education has been expanding both in Korea and around the world. The need for ESP in Korea’s secondary and higher education has become increasingly important. To address this academic and educational trend, the Korean Association of ESP was established in October 2016 with the goal of contributing to the development of English education in Korea.

Since 2017, the Korean Association of ESP has actively promoted academic exchange with higher education institutions both domestically and internationally and has published the academic journal ESP Review to advance theory and practice in ESP-based English education. The inaugural issue of ESP Review was published as an e-journal on June 30, 2019. From Volume 4, Issue 1 (published on June 30, 2022), all submissions and peer reviews have been managed through the Journal and Article Management System (JAMS). In December 2023, ESP Review was officially recognized as a Korea Citation Index (KCI)-listed journal by the National Research Foundation of Korea. Beginning in 2025, the journal is published three times a year (April, August, and December).

The editorial board, led by the Editor-in-Chief, is committed to ensuring that ESP Review continues to serve as a platform for academic inquiry and the sharing of practical applications related to all aspects of ESP education.
